Most contractors count experience in years. We count it in generations — a family line of electricians stretching back to 1903.
The family electrical business begins inside the founder’s uncle’s hardware store — later operating as Barry Electric, one of Chicago’s oldest and largest electrical contractors.
Ron Forbis brings the family tradition south, founding Forbis Electric Systems with his father and brothers — contracting and lighting for a fast-growing Southwest Florida.
The company answers the call as a FEMA prime contractor — beginning decades of nationwide disaster-relief work with the world’s largest builders.
Residential, commercial, and industrial electrical services — built on the same values as 1903: integrity, reliability, and excellence.
Ron Forbis started young — a lawn-care business at 10, and by 12 he was building light fixtures in the warehouse of Barry Electric, one of Chicago’s oldest electrical contractors, during school breaks.
In 1982 he brought that work ethic to Naples, founding Forbis Electric Systems alongside his brothers. What began as a local contracting and lighting business grew — through craftsmanship and customer service — into projects spanning residential, commercial, multi-family, service, and FEMA recovery work across Southwest Florida and Mississippi.
Today Ron leads the company with the same values it was built on: integrity, reliability, and excellence.
